Rust Faultline event

On 25th June 2026, the Rust Roleplayers group launched their Rust Faultline roleplay event, which ran for 4 days. In it, almost a thousand players found themselves in a custom underground map.

Bases were constructed in large caverns by a variety of clans. While conflict was allowed during the event, some of the fighting was criticized for having no roleplay merit. Admins dealt with hundreds of reports for “KOS violations“.

Many bases had a creative flair, with some being used for mini-events, and there even being a rave (Club Afterlife).

The ultimate goal was for the players to reach the surface, which would involve some intrigue and a violent struggle.

Videos by those that claimed to know the truth had urged players to rise up. Such videos appeared cryptic to those that didn’t know the context.

In the end, an announcement explained: “As the tunnels began to collapse and shake on the final day, the entire server collectively chose to fight back against the Cobalt Corporation. Leading to a server victory, as most players escaped to the surface.”
