The Rust Roleplayers group had intended to use player-made boats for their Armada event in December 2025, but the Naval Update was delayed until 5th February 2026. Finally, the Rust Roleplayers used player-made boats for their Rust Armada Unanchored event that month, which ran for four days from 26th February 2026 to 1st March.

Announcements in their Discord server mention the use of whitelist and VIP slots. Their custom map featured a series of islands, including a volcano. Technology would be fairly limited.

Over a dozen mini-events included meetings, disasters, battles, and passive moments such as parties. Many videos were made of the event, showing pirate-themed drama, and all sorts of interesting scenes, such as what appeared to be a “rocket tornado“.

The clans battled for control of relics, which would grant them protection from the final catastrophic disaster. The surviving groups were said to include USN (United States Navy), Oculus Virdis, Undertow Mercenaries, and The Russian Empire. Players commented that they had enjoyed the event, and the Discord server (Rust Roleplayers Events) grew to over 1,600 members.
