Around 2012, Garry posted a series of photos to the Facepunch forum that showed stickers of the Facepunch logo that had been stuck to public signs. A capture of Google Street View on the outskirts of Birmingham showed that one of them was still in place a decade later, during which time Facepunch staff had stopped pulling pranks long enough to develop Rust.

According to Wikipedia, Facepunch itself has now existed for multiple decades; they marked the recent 20th anniversary in a Rust announcement titled FACEPUNCH’S 15TH BIRTHDAY! – I assume that they didn’t count the other 5 years because time moves slowly in Birmingham.
