On the early morning of 9th May an assassination attempt against the President was foiled. The incident occurred outside Blockhouse 51 which was staffed by guards which were on duty at the time. The assailant and his accomplice were appearing friendly as the President stopped to chat while conducting routine diplomacy at the nearby Oxum’s Gas Station. Suddenly, and without any apparent motive, the thug pulled out and fired a crudely made pistol, which wounded the President.

The perpetrator was promptly killed by the guards that were both standing by the President and also garrisoned inside the Blockhouse. The accomplice then battled against the guards, and after a few seconds was also killed by the garrison. With the fighting ended, first aid was rendered. The President continues to lead the Government unfazed by the events, and remains popular after having won the election which the Generals voted on for May 2023 only a few days ago.
